Steve Christiansen Named Riverfest Commodore

Riverfest is marking its 30th anniversary, and this year’s Commodore and First Mate are ready to help the community celebrate.

Steve and Pat Christiansen were introduced Monday at an event in Onalaska at the home of Ed and Sally Sullivan, the 1992 Commodore and First Mate.

Riverfest welcomes Sparta Butterfest to the 2012 Puttin’ On The Lips Competition

Riverfest has teamed up with Sparta Butterfest this year to expand this years Puttin’ On The Lips competition. Contestants this year will have the opportunity to compete at either event to gain a spot in the finals competition. Rules and Registration information are available above under the participate tab.

2011 Riverfest Puttin on the Lips Winner Results are In!

With over $3000.00 in cash prizes all 3rd place winners were awarded $200.00, 2nd Place Winners $300.00 and 1st Place Winners $500.00. The winners are:

Age 9 and Under – 3rd Place: Andrew Maedke “Bad Little Boy”, 2nd Place: Lenny Boberg “The Len Man”, 1st Place: Page Eide “Little Orphan”.

Age 10 to 13 – 3rd Place: Taylor Eide “Glamour Girl”, 2nd Place: Kadee Brown “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, 1st Place: Alexis & McKenzie Marcon “Chirpin Chicks”

Free Valet Bike Parking at Riverfest

Ride your bike to the fest knowing your bike will be safe and secure.

The Driftless Region Bicycle Coalition is offering free valet bike parking for everyone at the entrance of Riverside Park during the fest (corner of State Street and Front Street next to the button booths). This is their 2nd year offering this free service to the community.

Why bike?

Great exercise
Hassle-free parking
Saves on gas money
Better for the environment

Valet hours:

Friday: 11am – 10pm
Saturday: 11am – 10pm
Sunday: 11am – 11pm (or for 30 minutes after the fireworks end)

2011 Commodore Goodwill Tour

2011 Commodore Leo Bronston and First Mate Kim are joined by Riverfest Family Tuesday with a visit to area senior care facilities and Riverfront. This is an annual event and a favorite way to visit with some Riverfest friends. The Riverfront singers will be performing at 2011 Riverfest.

Changes/Updates to Riverfest Schedule

All changes to Riverfest’s Schedule will be placed on this page. Please check back often as weather and other circumstances can change planned events.

Latest Changes to the Schedule:

The YMCA Youth Basketball Free Throw will not be at Riverfest for 2011.
Another cancellation will be Three Rivers Martial Arts scheduled for Noon July 2nd, 2011.
The Riverfest Venetian Parade for 2011 has been cancelled due the severe weather headed for the La Crosse Area. Watch for this event to return during our 30th Anniversary Year in 2012.
Friday, July 1st - River City Water Skiers have been cancelled because of the recent high water. The rest of the shows are going on as scheduled.
Food Fair Change – Good Eatts (Garlic & Wine Mushrooms) and outside food vendor Big Mama’s Gyro (Gyro Sandwiches) are not able to attend 2011 Riverfest.

Bronston Named Riverfest Commodore

Chiropractor Leo Bronston will take a break from back adjustments and adopt a more nautical occupation for the Fourth of July holiday. He’s the new Commodore for 2011 Riverfest.
