Officials of La Crosse’s Riverfest today revealed the Commodore and First Mate who will reign over this year’s Fourth of July week festivities.  Jeff and Andrea Wieser of La Crescent were selected by past Commodores of Riverfest from a pool of dozens of area men and women.

The Wiesers were selected for their years of leadership in many La Crosse and La Crescent organizations. Their service began early in life.  Jeff’s father and grandfather both served in local governmental leadership posts, and provided role models for Jeff to follow.  Early in their married life the two were active in the La Crosse Jaycees, and helped tend bar and sell tickets at Riverfest in the late 1980s.

Commodore Jeff has served on the Crucifixion Church Parish Board, and currently served on the La Crosse Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, The Western Technical College Foundation Board of Directors, and the Family and Children’s Center Board.  Andrea is a Past President of the La Crescent School District Foundation.  Jeff is a graduate of Western, and the recipient of the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award along with his brother Brian.  Andrea received a degree Business Marketing from UW-La Crosse.

The Wiesers are both employed by their family business, Wieser Brothers General Contractor Inc.  Jeff is Co-Owner.  Andres is Business Administrator.

The Wiesers have three sons.  They will represent Riverfest during the 2017-18 year at area parades and activities.  Their official term in office starts the evening of June 21, 2017, with the Commodore Banquet at the Radisson Hotel Ballroom.  Tickets to the banquet are available by calling the Riverfest office at (608) 782-6000.  This year’s Riverfest runs from Friday, June 30 through Tuesday, July 4.
